Whenever I see a quilt with an interesting design or a piece of lace with such fine detail or well-done needlework that I have never seen before, I am inspired to create practical garments with many beautiful colors and designs to combat the sadness of this world. In this collection, I wanted to assert myself to finds ways of how I can use the age-old wrap technique into my garments and merge it with embellishments and practicality.
Damaris was first introduced to knitting by her mother when she was six years old and moved on to learn crochet, needlework, and how to operate a sewing machine. At MCTC she found a broader world of colors and designs that push her to reach new heights of creativity and a better focus for her career. For her current collection, Damaris focused on combining simplicity with flamboyance.
I am forever grateful to my family to make it possible for me to reach my goals with their encouragement and love, to my professors for their help and understanding, especially Ren, to my classmates who have gotten me out of too many rough spots to count, to my models for making the time and showcasing my work to the best of their abilities and finally, to God who made it all possible in the first place.
