JARMON First Look

This look is the combination of three pieces: Base layers include pink velour shorts and a black, pleated, loose fitting pull over shirt. The outer layer is a kimono style jacket made of various upholstery fabrics and lined in faux suede. I drafted this look using Optitex 3d software.

JARMON Second Look

This full-length cape is made from a synthetic outdoor and an upholstery fabric. It is lined with faux suede. I drafted this piece using Optitex 3d software. I simulated stitching in zero gravity for optimal fit.

JARMON Second Look

The tailored shirt is a lightweight corduroy and implements some fine details such as gold buttons on the cuff. The pleated harem pants are made of a stretch cotton crepe. These pieces were drafted using Optitex 3d software.

ARTIST STATEMENT

My current work reflects my personal aesthetic. I draw inspiration from life in the city. I have an attraction to unusual textiles that shows throughout my designs. In fashion, I aim to create a feeling of comfortability and confidence within the wearer of my garments.

Jamaal Jarmon

ARTIST BIO

Jamaal Jarmon is a fashion designer based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Jamaal began his design journey in October, 2019, when he purchased his first home sewing machine and enrolled in a “Learn to Sew” class. In search for more knowledge and experience Jamaal enrolled in the Apparel Technologies program at Minneapolis College in the spring of 2020. He plans to continue honing his craft, working out of his personal studio in Minneapolis.
